Let It Out

I wish I could pause everything. I wish i could put my life on hold, just for a second. I wish I freeze my tears for a little while. I wish I could put emotions on layaway until I know how to handle them. There’s a difference between, “You can’t have everything in life,” and, “You can’t talk without taking action.” Believe me, I would grant all my wishes if I had the power. But I don’t. So the only other choice I have is to close my eyes, and runaway. Bend down to my knees and just pray. Be thankful for what I have this very day. And for everything I’ve been blessed to say.

We mistake sex for romance. Guys are taught that pushing a girl up against a wall is romance. Sex is easy, you can do it with anyone, yourself, with batteries. Romance is when someone you like walks into a room and they take your breath away. Romance is when two people are dancing and they fit together perfectly. Romance is when two people are walking next to each other and all of a sudden they find themselves holding hands and they don’t know what happened.

Here’s to the kids; who try their hardest to be good enough for everyone. Who spend hours scrolling through posts on tumblr just to find the right one to describe their mood. Who wait online for that one certain person to sign on, just to gather up the nerve to say hello.  Who listen to the same song dozens of times just because the lyrics mean a lot and with the words, a memory plays in their minds. Who deserve so much  more than they get, and are willing to fight for it. And whose wish upon a shooting star or 11:11 was wasted on someone who will never care.

They say that at some point you will realize that you have done too much for someone or something that the only next possibly step to do is to stop. Leave it alone. Walk away. It’s not like you’re giving up, & it’s not like you shouldn’t try. It’s just that you have to draw the line of determination from desperation. What is truly yours would eventually be yours, & what is not, no matter how hard you try, will never be. You can’t always have your way & you can’t always fix everything. But sometimes it’s just better to walk away…

The worst kind of crying: Is when your lips start to shake & tears build up so quickly & fall so fast. You’re bent over or crouched trying to suck it in & not make any noise but it hurts too much to hold it in so you let out a yelp or a cry & then you start to lose your breath which sucks because then you’re crying out loud & you sound so dumb because now you’re not breathing either. It’s just a mess & you try to stop but you just can’t because everything is hitting you at once & every happy memory is just flooding out & you don’t want to cry out for help because if anyone else saw you like that you would be completely & utterly embarrassed…
